Shanghai Multimedia Industry Association established in 2002. Short name is SMIA. SMIA is one of the 12 associations in Shanghai set up after China joined WTO. It is a non-profit social organization, united by corporations which are engaged in the multimedia industry. Our Directors combines with Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality (STCSM) and Shanghai Administration Bureau of NGOs. Divisions of SMIA include Shanghai Game Developers Association (SGDA), Shanghai Multimedia Exhibition Committee (SMEC) and Shanghai Digital Media Outsourcing Alliance (SDMOA).

Up to now, SMIA owns over 298 corporation members which are focusing on animation, game, digital film, digital exhibition, digital publishing, E-learning and other relevant industries. Most of them locate in Shanghai(80%). Others located in Beijing, Hangzhou, Shenzhen, Xi’an, Chengdu and overseas (Canada, UK, Korea, Singapore, Australia) and so on.

Our Mission is that we serve our members, facilitate the industry, assist the government. It likes a bridge between government and companies, between companies and companies, between Shanghai and other cities, between China and overseas countries, through providing information and business opportunities.
